By passing a National Eligibility Test, the lecturer was awarded only to a particular state. Candidates aspiring to join BA. LL.B / BBA. LL.B / B.Des. / B.C.A. / B.B.A. (Information Technology) / B.A.(Mass Communication) / B.Sc. (Economics) Honours / B.A. (Liberal Arts) / B.Sc. (Liberal Arts) / B.Sc. (Culinary Arts) / B.Tech programmes offered by institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) have to take the common, mandatory online Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) 2018. From this year onwards, SET - Law test will be known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT), SET - Design test as Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), SET - Engineering as SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE). SET - General will continue as SET. These will be conducted in an online mode across various cities of India.

A candidate needs to register for Online SET / SLAT / SEED / SITEEE 2018 & also register for the institutes offering his/ her choice of programmes by paying separate programmes registration fees. If shortlisted, he/she would then need to attend the further admission process conducted by each of these institutes individually.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must have Master's Degree recognized by U.G.C. Candidates having Post Graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/Institute or Foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the Foreign University/Institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/ certificate with Master's degree of recognized Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiuweb.org) 
  • The candidates other than SC/ST/OBC/SBC/DT/NT category, who have secured at least 55% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master’s or equivalent examination, are eligible for this test.
  • OBC/SBC/DT/NT [belonging to non-creamy layer] and SC/ST/PH/VH (PH-Physically Handicapped. VH-Visually Handicapped i.e. Blind) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Master’s or equivalent examination are eligible for this test. 
  • Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying (final) master’s degree examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible to apply for the SET Examination.
  • Such candidates who clear SET Examination will be issued the certificate after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH and OBC/SBC/DT/NT [belonging to non-creamy layer] category candidates) and submit their P.G. Mark sheet within two years from the date of declaration of result of the SET examination. 
  • Candidates can appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only. e) Candidates should note that their candidature is provisional.
  • Their candidature will be deemed final upon verification of eligibility condition with reference to the documents enclosed with their application or as may be called for from time to time.  
  • To apply for the SET there is no upper age limit.

SET Process

SET 2018 is a three step process including application submission, written test and WAT/PI.

STEP 1: SET 2018 Application

The candidates can apply for SET 2018 through an online application form available on the official website. They need to register on the SET website as new user. On successful registration the candidates will be able to access the application form. Payment of application fee of Rs 1500 online through net banking or by credit/debit card.

STEP 2: SET 2018 admit card

Admit card of SET will be issued to registered students at least a week before the exam. The candidates can download their respective admit cards from the official website. Date for the same will be notified in advance.

STEP 3: SET 2018 exam

SET exam will be held on the scheduled date at all the test centres across the country at the same time. The candidates must be present at the venue along with admit cards and a secondary identity proof.

STEP 4: SET 2018 result

SET result will be announced on the official website. Selected candidates will be called for WAT/PI round. Each school will release their own cut off and post SET admission process. The candidates are advised to check individual websites.


The candidate must carry all the relevant documents (original and photocopy) to the WAT/PI round. Admission will be granted on th e basis of a candidate’s overall performance in SET and WAT/PI.
