Indian Council of Agricultural Research with headquarter in New Delhi is an autonomous body responsible for coordinating agricultural education and research in India. It works under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts the entrance examination popularly known as All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA). This examination is basically organized for providing admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs. AIEEA UG is the entrance examination for bachelor degree programs in agriculture, while AIEEA PG is organized for the candidates seeking admission in master’s degree programs offered by the Agricultural Universities.Through AIEEA National Talent Scholarship NTS are awarded  to the Candidates who take admission outside their state of  DOMICILE.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be an Indian National.
  • Age of Candidate must be 16 years as on 31st August 2018.
  • 10+ 2  from a recognized Board.The last 2 years of 10+ 2 should be studied with PCB./Mathematics/ Agriculture
  • Those with Agriculture in 10+2 are eligible for admission in some SAUs in the State of Chattisgarh, MP, Rajasthan, Uttrakhand, and UP.
  • 10+2 with Home Science Candidates would be eligible for admission into limited AUs.
  • 505 aggregate marks are required for General category/OBC, UPS.
  • Candidates appearing in qualifying examinations are eligible to apply.



  • Candidate needs to be an Indian Citizen.
  • Upper age limit is 19 years as on 31st August 2018.
  • Bachelors degree under 10+2+5 ,10+2+3---for IARI-PUSA/NDRI - KARNAL
  • Final year appearing Candidate may also apply.
  • 60% marks are required which in case of SC/ST/PC- IS-50%.

  • The paper contains 180 multiple choice questions. For stream-A, the questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Agriculture).
  • stream-B, it will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • The question paper medium will be English as well as Hindi.
  • There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer.
