Why You Should join?
Marine Science, one of the most all-encompassing fields of Oceanography, is concerned with the study of life in ocean and all of its biological manifestations. A marine biologist collect and analyze biological data, study plant life, identify animal species and their behaviour, research environmental effects, communicate findings to the public and do much more. Marine biologists find careers as Marine mammal specialists, naturalists, marine museum or aquarium administrators, educators, conservationists, and fisheries experts. Marine biologists can be employed by government and conservation agencies, environmental laboratories, marine laboratories, the water industry, coastal authorities, seaweed growing companies, fisheries and within the leisure and tourism industry.
Who Should join?
- For UG Courses: Candidates must have passed atleat 10+2 level of their education with subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
- For PG Courses: Candidates who have passed B.Sc. either in Zoology / Botany / Chemistry / Fishery Science / Earth Science / Physics / Agriculture / Microbiology / Applied Sciences or in other equivalent field are eligible to pursue M.Sc course in oceanography. Minimum educational eligibility for admission to M.Tech programme is B. Tech or equivalent degree / AMIE in Civil Engineering / Environmental Sciences with 60% marks. Those holding M.Sc degree in relevant field are also eligible.
- For Doctoral Courses: To pursue Ph.D/M.Phil in oceanography, you must have postgraduate degree in related field.
